Downtown The Studio for Southern California History @ Alpine St. / Hill St. On going Law & Disorder Exhibit. This exhibit investigates moments in history that led to legislative reform, as well as episodes of vigilantism and mob behavior in the form of riots and/or rebellions. Opened October 3, 2009 and will run for twelve months.

 

Downtown • Walt Disney Concert Hall. A native of Japan, Kuniko Yamamoto has become nationally recognized for her enchanting tales of Japanese culture and moral perspective. In this captivating performance, charming folktales are combined with traditional musical instruments, magical masks, origami and mime to create storytelling that will have audience spellbound in their seats.

Glendale • Red Rabbit Spring Arts & Crafts Market. 75+ local Southern California Crafters. Learn great crafting skills by taking one of our popular free family friendly workshops including: Upcycled Soda Can Pins - make a gorgeous pin using soda cans, buttons, coffee cup sleeves & wire! Wire-Wrapped Rock & Broken Glass Ornaments - rocks & glass? No way! Yes way! Whirling Soda-Can Pinwheels - again with the soda cans - but this time we add chopsticks to make pinwheels that really spin! The emphasis of this show is on handmade work - everything from fine art and fine craft to DIY indie work. Admission to the craft show is free. Parking is $6 so find a safe place to park on the street and enjoy your day.

 

Monterey Park • Play Days Birthday Celebration. The City of Monterey Park celebrates its history with rides, live entertainment, food booths and a festival parade.

 

Pasadena • JPL Open House. Exhibits and demonstrations about the Laboratory's ongoing research and space exploration. Many of the Lab's scientists and engineers are on hand to answer questions about how spacecraft are sent to other planets, how scientists utilize space technologies to explore Earth and how researchers are searching for planets beyond the solar system.

 

Pasadena • Taste of the World: Armenia. Admission to the festival is free and will highlight the music, dance, food and artistry of Armenia.
